This pattern has a 12-stitch repeat.

Note: If you prefer medium size eyelets, put the empty needles into holding position, knit across, the push them back to FWP with latches open at the beginning of the next row.

If you prefer small size eyelets, leave the empty needles in nonworking position, knit across. At the beginning of the next row, bring needles back to working position, picking up floats that have formed.

The instructions produce the large size eyelets.

Row 1: Skip first stitch. * Using the 3-prong transfertool, pick up and transfer the next group of 3 stitches 1 needle to the right. The needle on the right of the 3-needle group now has 2 stitches on it. Pull the now empty needle to working position and open latch. Skip 1 stitch. With the 3-prong transfer tool pick up and transfer the next group of 3 stitches 1 stitch to the left. The last needle on the left of the 3-needle group now has 2 stitches on it. Pull the now empty needle to working position and open latch. Skip next 4 stitches (begin counting needles with the first one past the needle holding 2 stitches). * Repeat from * to * across row. Knit across.

Row 2: Knit across

Row 3: Skip first 6 stitches. * With 3-prong transfer tool pick up and move next group of 3 stitches 1 needle to the left.The last needle on the left of the 3-needle group will now have 2 stitches on it. Pull now empty needle to working position and open latch. Skip next 8 stitches. * Repeat from * to * across row. Knit across.

Row 4: Knit across.

Row 5: Skip first 3 stitches. With 3-prong transfer tool pick up and transfer the next group of 3 stitches 1 needle to the right.The needle on the right of this 3-needle group now has 2 stitches on it. Pull now empty needle to working position and open latch. Skip 1 stitch. With 3-prong transfer tool pick up and transfer next group of 3 stitches 1 needle to the left. The needle on the left of the 3-needle group now has 2 stitches on it. Pull now empty needle to working position and open latch. Skip 4 stitches. * Repeat from * to * across row. Knit across.

Row 6: Knit across.

Row 7: Skip first 2 stitches. * With 3-prong transfer tool pick up and transfer next group of 3 stitches 1 needle to the right.The needle on the right of this 3-needle group now has 2 stitches on it. Bring now empty needle to working position and open latch. Skip next 9 stitches. * Repeat from * to * across row. Knit across.

Row 8: Knit across.
