Filet Crochet Table Runner |
This table runner was crocheted with size 10 crochet cotton and crochet hook size 7 or 8. It's been a while since I made this so I'm not sure but either will work. It is started at the center, worked out to one end, then the thread is reattached and the other half worked. At the end I added a row of single crochet all the way around, spacing them so the squares would maintain their shape. Each square consists of a double crochet (yarn around hook once) and a chain 2. A filled square has two double crochets in its center. At the end of the row, chain 3 and turn. Chain 3 counts as first dc. |
Begin second half by turning chart around and beginning with row 2 (Row 1 is worked only once). For diagrams of filled diamonds (central motifs on table runner) and increasing and decreasing solid and open meshes see charts below. |

There is one extra stitch on the edges of both halves. Overlap this after printing |

The 15 empty diamonds in the center of each design are filled as the chart shows below: |
. = chain 1 l = 1 double crochet x = 1 single crochet |

To increase one mesh at end of row, chain 2, yarn around hook 3 times, hook into loop at base of last stitch, work off 2 loops at a time. |
||||
To increase 1 mesh at beginning of row, chain 8, double chain in first stitch of previous row. |
||||
To increase 1 solid mesh at beginning of row, yarn around hook twice, hook into base of last stitch, work off 2 loops at a time. Repeat two more times. |
||||
To increase one solid mesh at beginning of row, chain 6, double crochet in 5th and 6th chain from hook, then in first stitch of previous row. |
