(NOTE:
Arrangement below (empty needle in working position with latch open) results
in the largest size eyelet. If you prefer medium eyelets, put empty needles
in holding position, then back to FWP on next row. For small size eyelets,
leave empty needles out of work, then bring back to working position at
the end of the row, picking up the floats that have formed in front of
the needles.)
Row 1: Skip first 5 sts. * With 3-prong tool pick up and transfer next
group of 3 sts 1 needle to the right (the outermost needle on the right
of this group now has 2 sts on it). With 3-prong tool pick up and transfer
the next group of 3 sts 2 needles to the right (the 3d needle from the
right side of the 2-needle gap now has 2 sts on it). With single prong
tool pick up and move back the first stitch on right side of 2-needle
gap 1 needle to the left. Make sure empty needles are back in working
position with latches open.
(NOTE: The arrangement of the transferred sts from right to left now is
as follows: 2 sts on needle, 1 st on next needle, 2 sts on next needle,
1 st on next needle, empty needle/eyelet, 1 st on next needle, empty needle/eyelet,
followed by the center stitch of the pattern repeat. This arrangement
is the same on both sides of the center stitch (only in reverse order)
throughout all 8 pattern rows. The only change is the number of center
stitches (from 1 up to 7) and the number of needles skipped between pattern
repeats on each row.)
